SEAOAK Podcast: The Aussie Farmer's Voice

In early 2025 SEAOAK will launch the Aussie Farmers Voice podcast - to give everyday Australian farmers a voice at the table in complex discussions that affect their farms, families and livelihoods.

Australian farmers are faced with many challenges from weather variability and farm profitability through to mental health, policy changes and shifting consumer/market demands. Decisions and policies that affect farmers and their families in inequitable ways are being made without many of them having a voice or the means to adapt quickly - especially for the smaller farms. If these farmers and their families had a voice at the table, what would they want to say?

Each podcast will invite an everyday farmer to come together with someone from government or industry to discuss these topics from their viewpoint. Farmers and their families of all ages, cultures, beliefs, political alignment and farming practices will have a voice at the table in these discussions.

Some of the complex topics we will discuss with everyday grassroots farmers include mental health, renewable energy in regional/rural communities, weather and climate variability, carbon, sustainability, family, finance, policy, and market/consumer trends.
