About SEAOAK Consulting

A female-owned food and fibre consultancy, with big-four expertise and grassroots values
SEAOAK is a rural food and fibre consultancy with headquarters in Victoria's High Country and Northern Rivers NSW. We work where agriculture meets natural resource management, helping producers, agribusinesses and the supply chains that depend on them manage climate risk, prove their sustainability credentials and invest in healthier landscapes. We believe decisions that shape rural Australia should be made with rural Australia, and that is why we put farmers and rural communities first in everything we do.
The SEAOAK story
SEAOAK was founded in early 2024 by Ebony Greaves and Carli Davis, two former big-four consultants who wanted their work to mean more to the places they call home.
Ebony brings 20+ years in tech innovation and consulting and was a former senior leader at Deloitte for 7 years. She is a rural leader recognised for bringing diverse groups of people together to tackle Australia's climate and sustainability-related challenges at scale. Ebony has an educational background in climate science, sustainable business strategy, and social science, and is passionate about developing practical and scalable solutions for the agriculture industry. Living in the Victorian High Country, Ebony saw how often decisions affecting rural communities were made in corporate rooms, far from the people and landscapes they affected. Opening SEAOAK, she set out to give rural communities and industries a stronger voice.
Carli grew up in a family of small-business builders and has led sustainability strategy work at PwC and R.M. Williams. She is an experienced strategist whose work has spanned from farm to fork, including addressing the complex challenges and opportunities within corporate sustainability, waste prevention, regenerative agriculture, soil health and biodiversity. Carli has an educational background in environmental science and business.
What began as a grass roots sustainable agriculture practice has quickly grown into much more. Today SEAOAK works across the whole supply chain, including with government and industry. SEAOAK is leading national initiatives in farm sustainability, traceability and natural capital, and is the appointed Australian Operator of Landscape Enterprise Networks (LENs).
Where the name SEAOAK comes from
SEAOAK blends two names from nature: sea oak, a resilient seaweed, and she-oak, one of Australia's toughest native trees. The she-oak takes root in hard, marginal country where little else grows. It quietly enriches the soil around it, steadies riverbanks and shelters wildlife. Both plants are adaptable and deeply connected to the places they live. That is the spirit we bring to our work, and the kind of legacy we want to leave behind.

What makes us different
Farmer-first, always. We are a rural business. Farmers and rural communities sit at the centre of our decisions, and rural landscapes sit at the heart of our work.
Big-four quality, without the fuss. Our work meets the standard you would expect from a big-four consulting firm, delivered with the flexibility and authenticity of a small rural team. We finish what we start, and we don't half-deliver a project to sell you the next one.
Collaboration at scale. We are known for bringing diverse groups together, from producers and ag-tech innovators to global supply chains and government, to solve problems no one organisation can solve alone.
Rooted in the regions. Our team lives and works across the Victorian High Country, the Northern Rivers and Hunter regions of NSW, and Tasmania. We understand rural challenges because we live them.
Our values
Grassroots. Meaningful change starts from the ground up, with the people who live the challenges of their regions. We stay connected, listen closely and keep our work practical and real.
Collaboration. Impact isn't a zero-sum game. Progress happens when industries, innovators and communities work towards shared goals.
Integrity. We do the right thing because it's right, not because it's easy. If we say we'll do something, we do it, and we'll say no to work that doesn't fit our values.
Grit. Building something new in rural Australia takes persistence. We show up, keep going when it's hard, and see the work through.
